Tijuana 70 - A Tribute To Herb Alpert (1970)

Very pleasant album which is exactly what it says, a fine tribute (or budget label cash-in) to the sound of Alpert!

    1. I had a spare ten minutes and found the LP. The composer's name on the label for Happy One, Old Fashioned, Kalinka, Habanera and Los Tijuanos is Biermann. There are no other details of who this is; it is not a name I am familiar with.
      Cheers, Mark

    2. Dear Mark,

First of all, i do thank you for sharing such a treasure of instrumental music. It is really amazing that you have such a big archieve.

Since you are familiar with this kind of music, i thought you might have the answer to my question. I have been looking for a melody which i met on a movie, The link of the movie i give below. The melodies are the first two in the video clip.

      I will appreciate your help.
Thank you once again for reading my message.

      Regards,
      Haluk

    3. Haluk,

Thank you for your kind comments!

I have watched the video clip, and the first two melodies in the clip, the piano instrumentals, I do not know. The only music I recognised was from the scene at the wedding, the couple were dancing to La Cumparsita, a famous piece of music usually used to dance the Tango!

I hope this is helpful and thanks again,

      Mark

    4. Hi again, Mark. Thanks for checking. There are several Biermanns listed elsewhere online as composers but I can't see, from looking at their other work, any obvious candidate. The mystery continues...
