    1. No, no, it is the Carpenters version on the clip, but what he wants to know is who did a version with the brass figure which he has added using a keyboard.

      Thanks, Mark

    2. I'm afraid the record may have passed into complete obscurity, despite the fact that I must have heard it a hundred times on the radio 30-40 years ago...

    1. No, because on the actual record it was real brass players.

    2. I recall the arrangement being close to a sound-alike of the Carpenters' version, except obviously an instrumental and with that brass part after the verses.

  6. [My comment seems vanished, forgive me if this is a duplicate...]

No-one has mentioned that 'This Masquerade' is track no.8 on the Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass-album 'Coney Island' from 1975. :)

  7. I would also guess Ray Davies & The Button Down Brass - but in my archive, even though I find a lot of music featuring the orchestra, there is no track titled 'This Masquerade'.

  8. Thanks, Steinar. I found the Herb Alpert version but unfortunately that wasn't it. He took it at a much faster tempo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eVdfZfdVxQ
