Non Stop Pepsi Party - Denny Wright and the Hustlers (1974)

#REPOST#

This was one of the first LPs I found when I first started looking round the local charity shops, some years ago, but I have seen it again since, several times, the one ripped here being the one in the best condition.

It is around 54 minutes in length, and top quality from start to finish! Featuring the Shout About Pepsi track, as featured on the first Sound Gallery album, here it appears as part of a medley with Tequila and La Bamba.

Other highlights include fine versions of I Can See Clearly Now, Something, Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da, very smooth sounding covers of Without You,Love Is Blue, and Sounds of Silence, with a nice rock 'n' roll medley to finish the album.

Every track is a winner, the album is one of my personal favourites, the track I post as preview, Roll Over Beethoven never fails to have me jiving round the room!

I hope you enjoy it and please leave a comment!

The Modern Way - Ray McVay And His Orchestra (1976)

Another fine Ray McVay ballroom dancing album from our friend Al Gates of Perth, West Australia!

For now it seems I have been spared, and so I will continue here, in public, until the shut down, if and when it comes!

Thanks to Al for the album; I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Dance Spectacular - Ray McVay And His Orchestra (1973)

Thanks again to Al Gates, from Perth, West Australia for this big double album of music for Ballroom Dancing from Ray McVay.

Al hopes everyone doesn't get too bored with too much Ray McVay, but there's no way you would if you like this kind of music, which I can tell, most of us here do!

A full side each of foxtrots, waltzes and quicksteps, and a fourth side with latin and jive, it is a good listen as a whole, or to pick a smaller, personal selection.

I have more McVay which I will be posting very soon!

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Ray McVay And His Orchestra Play For Sequence Dancing (1970)

Our thanks again go to Al Gates from Perth, West Australia for this fine 1970 album of Ballroom dancing from Scotland's Ray McVay.

Highly prolific with his albums for dancing in the 1960s and 70s, Ray McVay began his career as Musical Director for Larry Parnes, backing all the rock'n'roll stars from Parnes' stable on tour, later leading the Glenn Miller Orchestra (UK) who I understand he still leads today.

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Featuring a tracklist of 60's pop songs arranged for Old Time and Modern Sequence dancing.

Thanks again to Al, please comment if you, like me, have enjoyed it!

The Don Lusher Collection (1976)

An excellent collection of big band lounge from one of Britain's finest trombonists and arrangers.

An eclectic selection of repertoire, my highlight is Don Lusher's own library classic, Carnaby Chick, a different recording and better arrangement to the more commonly available Amphonic version, or the Harry Roche Constellation version!

50 minutes long, it is a great listen with its blend of two different types of band with his quartet playing the the quiet, loungey tracks, and the big band playing with energy on the rest of the album.

The rear of the sleeve contains much interesting information and synopsis in it with full recording and band personnel details.

I hope you enjoy it and please comment, leaving your name, if you do!

Pete Moore's Solid Rockin' Brass (1974)

A truly brilliant album, a treat from start to finish, it features a blend of funky, brassy arrangements of pop classics from the 50s to the 70s with a couple of funky originals thrown in, too, one of which (as featured below) is called Solar Wind, which is simply a rearranged take on The Jackson 5's I Want You Back!

This one has been out there before courtesy of Lemoncat's rip of a few years ago, but I was so pleased to be able to add the vinyl of this one to my collection, and it sounds in extremely good condition!

Don't miss this one, as there is a great deal of Pete Moore available on all the usual download retail sites, and so this could be on there soon!

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

The Latin Guitars Of Ike Isaacs (1978)

A fine instrumental album featuring a blend of 70s pop songs and standards arranged for dancing and played by one of the finest session guitarists, Ike Isaacs.

I posted some years ago the only album I have ever found of his, Fourteen Great T.V. Themes, so I was pleased to see this album.

The rip is courtesy of our good friend from Australia, Al Gates, whose vinyl rips are always excellent, and this one is no exception.

Thanks again, Al!

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

I do hope you enjoy this a much as I enjoyed making it!

Most of the tracks have appeared on, or are planned to appear on Easy Listening World on their respective albums, they are a blend of popular disco classics given Easy arrangements, standards brought into the 70s, and funky Easy disco originals.

Moog Party Time (1973)

Fairly standard but very listenable album of moog covers.

My highlights are the fine versions of Popcorn, Song Sung Blue, and Son Of My Father, with What's Your Name and Horse Theme being very good, too.

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Caribbean Ros - Edmundo Ros & His Orchestra (1974)

After the fine post of some classic Ros at Inflight Entertainment recently, celebrating the very hot early summer weather here in the UK, I offer this rather nice album featuring a mix of pop and standards, vocal and instrumental.

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Dancing In The Dark / Disco Greats - Enoch Light And The Light Brigade (1977)

Probably the very last original album put out under Enoch Light's name while he was still alive (he died in 1978), it contains 10 excellent tracks, all of which you could best describe as Easy Disco.

Smooth and funky, my highlights are the marvellous version of Gonna Fly Now from Rocky, The Devil's Gun, and from the sadly missed Donna Summer, a fine cover version of I Feel Love.

Like many albums of its time, it is a mixture of vocal and instrumental, but do not let the vocals put you off, they are not at all overpowering to the wonderful Easy Disco arrangements from Jeff Hest, who also plays some great ARP synth on the record too.

It is always pleasing to find a record like this in such fine condition from a charity shop, as many are not even stocking donated vinyl anymore!

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Thank You For The Music (Radio 2 Top Tunes Vol. 5) - Norrie Paramor & The Midland Radio Orchestra (1979)

A fine collection of late '70s pop songs arranged for BBC Radio 2 play and made available on this album, the very last one by the great Norrie Paramor (there is a tribute on the rear sleeve).

Featuring excellent versions of classics such as I Will Survive, Just The Way You Are, Music Box Dancer, Cavatina, Copacabana and more.

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Non Stop Dance Party - The Exciting Sounds Of Chico Arnez [1974]

#Request#

By request is this fine album related to my previous posts of Sparkling Sounds and Non Stop Pepsi Party.

Containing a mix of vocal and instrumental tracks, I imagine it would have livened up any party in the 70s with its set of 70s pop songs (Resurrection Shuffle), 60s soul (Land Of A Thousand Dances, In The Midnight Hour), and party favourites (The Locomotion, Hava Nagila).

My pick though, is a nice version of Love's Theme, with flute, brass and voices being used instead of strings.

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Yesterday's Dreams - Baker Street Philharmonic [1970]

You must check out Spiral's great post of Baker Street Philharmonic's Je t'aime LP [link in favourites at time of writing], to compliment that here I offer this lovely Easy LP.

Featuring some nice scat vocals, organ, guitar, and strings, it has more than its share of smooth orchestral originals, is a great listen, and I recommend it strongly!

I hope you enjoy it and please comment if you do!

Non Stop Pepsi Party - Denny Wright & The Hustlers [1974]

MFP 50098

After posting the Sparkling Sounds LP, and mentioning Denny Wright's Pepsi LP, I thought it might be good to rip and post that Pepsi LP, so here it is!

It was one of the first LPs I found when I first started looking round the charity shops, some years ago, but I have seen it again since, several times, the one ripped here being the one in the best condition.

Sparkling Sounds... Just the Way You Want To Hear Them [1974]

MFP 50191

I found this album of vocal covers in one of my local charity shops, looked at the sleeve and found it was from Denny Wright and Anton Kwiatkowski, and bought it, hoping for something hopefully similar and as good as Wright's own Non-Stop Pepsi Party or Chico Arnez's Non-Stop Dance Party.

It turned out to be more like one from the Hot Hits collection or similar soundalike album. I must say it is very good though, and although the band and singers are trying to sound like the originals, there turns out to be more of their own personality to the sound than that!

It is well worth a listen, and so I hope you enjoy it and leave a comment!
