This Is Max Greger [1969]

Nice sampler album from Polydor featuring the smooth, yet upbeat 60s beat sound of Max Greger.

Big on the brass, particularly sax, it is well worth a listen, the vinyl sounding especially clean!

I hope you enjoy it, and please comment if you do!

ALBUM PREVIEW - SAFARI TRUMPET

  1. First track Safari Trumpet was used by the BBC I think for question of Sport, and it sounds like the version that was used, or it could have been an early version of the Sportsnight theme.

  2. Hi VR!

Thank you for your comment, but I have no idea about whether it was used as a theme tune! Perhaps someone could help? A storming track though, that could easily be used as such, or even as a floor filler, maybe?

  3. It used to fade around frames 00:26.

I am quite positive that it was used in Scotland as their local football program called Sportscene, but they changed the theme a few times, and I am sure this was the earliest in the seventies.

Good that you now have this as the preview track.

  6. Hi Mark,

Just been listening to that sampler again, and I didn't realise that there are other tracks on that sampler comp, it it possible you could share that complete compilation on here?

The second track is You Are The Sunshine Of My Life.

  7. Hi VR!
I'm a little confused! All of the albums featured are shared in full, the album featuring You Are The Sunshine Of My Life is shared, it is called Sparkling Sounds. The jukebox I have featured at the top gathers all of the album previews I have offered recently.

I hope this answers your question.
